Teaching Rural Bangladesh About Digital Safety
I'm Samin โ a digital safety educator from Dhaka ๐ง๐ฉ who teaches villages about scams, phishing, and how to keep their personal credentials safe. I also plant trees (200+ so far), build open-source tools, and believe everyone deserves access to information. My goal is to build a semi-formal institution for free digital literacy so no one gets left behind in the digital revolution.
Who I Am
I teach rural communities across Bangladesh about digital safety โ specifically how scams and phishing work, why you should never share your OTP or passwords (companies already have basic access and will never ask), and how to recognize social engineering. This work started from frustration: so many people in villages are actively targeted by scammers, but no one is teaching them the fundamentals. I also plant trees. My father and I have planted 200+ trees โ fruit trees, flowering plants, large shade trees โ across Bangladesh. These aren't just carbon offset; they're community spaces where people come to find calm, and we maintain them daily. The environmental impact compounds over time. I build open-source tools because I believe information should be free and accessible to everyone, regardless of economic status. I've never charged anyone for my help โ not for digital security advice, not for fixing their computer, not for my knowledge. What I get in return is their warmth, trust, and the opportunity to make a real difference. I'm also a photographer who captures Dhaka's street life and landscapes. My journey started with curiosity about how systems break โ cybersecurity โ and that led to building things that protect people. I'm 17, in my first year of HSC at Rajuk Uttara Model College, and I'm currently working on formalizing my digital safety education into a semi-formal or formal institution so this work can scale.

Building an Institution
Formalizing Digital Safety Education
I'm building a semi-formal or formal institution dedicated to free digital safety training. The goal is to reach every village in Bangladesh โ teaching people about scams, phishing, credential protection, and digital rights. No one should be left behind in the digital revolution just because they lack formal education.
Scaling Environmental & Community Impact
Expand the tree-planting initiative while maintaining active community stewardship. Combine environmental restoration with digital literacy to address both the climate crisis and the digital divide. Help more people understand technology as a tool for empowerment, not exploitation.
